Supervisor education

We offer a range of professional development programs tailored for busy healthcare professionals. Our programs are delivered by leading academics and clinicians and are designed to provide supervisors with the latest skills and knowledge. 

Our goal is to train health professionals to be equipped and willing to meet the priority health needs of the population in rural and remote Australia, with a distinct focus on underserved communities, tropical medicine, and the health of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders.

JCU Musculoskeletal Workshop

Date: Saturday 9 February 2019

Location: James Cook University Cairns, Smithfield campus

Topics: 

  • Review diagnosis and management of common musculoskeletal conditions
  • Review of joint anatomy (shoulder, knee, hip and spine) using cadaveric prosections, imaging pathways for assessment and diagnosis, joint injections and post-injury or surgery rehabilitation

Cost:

  • GMT accredited supervisors: Free
  • Non-accredited supervisors from GMT accredited practices: $200
  • All other participants: $400

JCU Certificate in Clinical Supervision

Date: Noon Friday 17 May to Noon Sunday 19 May 2019

Location: Townsville

This interactive two day course covers the key components of effective clinical supervision, including teaching and learning, assessment and teaching in clinical settings. The course is suitable for clinicians in both primary care and hospital settings.
